In the heart of Antwerp, Motel One Antwerpen is a poem to the city.
Renowned for its role in the textile trade, the Belgian city has
indissolubly tied its artistic legacy to fashion.
The interior design of Motel One Antwerpen reflects the city’s rich history, with each corner of the hotel celebrating fashion and textiles.
Among these is the bar counter evoking the weft of tweed with the Tweed Smeraldo backlit wallcovering.
The in-house design team of Motel One Antwerpen chose fashion and textiles as the focal theme of the hotel’s interior design project, paying homage to the history and culture of Antwerp. This aesthetic theme is immediately evident in the hall where the hand-woven rugs by a former student of Belgian stylist Dries van Noten stand out.
Chairs evoke t-shirt shapes while stools recall buttons. Bags are home decor elements as bold matches of fabrics and patterns. In the bar area, the Tweed Smeraldo backlit marble wallcovering covers the bar counter. The weft of the tweed fabric is also the protagonist of the glass wall behind the bar, tracing a style continuity with the backlit marble bar counter.
