“Spanning a surface area of 4,500 square metres and distributed over two floors, the Golden Mile, a luxury stone wellness centre design which opened to the public in December 2013, is already recognised as being the most stylish and exclusive place in the centre of Moscow to spend time relaxing and pampering oneself.”
From the architects’ statements
“Design, construction and furnishings are all strictly Made in Italy, distinguishing this brand new venue created by Wellness Today – Happy Sauna Group, who appointed Studio D73 for the project design.
The project was split into five different areas: ground floor, beauty, fitness, communal areas and wet area. Each of the five areas was painstakingly designed to identify the elements – from the furnishings to the flooring, lighting and acoustics – which would be most appropriate for each one, making a clear distinction between two large areas, a dry one and one dedicated to water.
From the beauty area, fitted with 15 reserved booths, to the two private spas, from the futuristic swimming pool to the 900 sqm gym flooded by light from the large central dome and the impressive “big circle” lamp, from the spacious communal areas to the marble and gold of the wet area, everything inside the Golden Mile luxury stone wellness centre oozes attention to detail and customer focus, with a unique language that is expressed through elements and details which in many cases were designed and produced exclusively for this project.”
Indeed, it is in the wet area that the most marine textures of the “Le Pietre Incise” collection by Lithos Design can be found. In the breathtaking setting of the swimming pool, a feature wall decorated with the Lembo texture provides the backdrop to the precious sign and parallels the waves produced by the pool, where the golden letters and mosaics reflect together with the white marble and furnishings, enhancing the effect of sophisticated elegance. The two whirlpool baths are also embellished by two feature walls in natural stone and dramatically lit to emphasise their light folds and refined chiaroscuro effects.
