Confort and daylight are this office’s two features, further emphasised by the Mizar backlit wall who brings to light the details and the elegant design of the reception, welcoming guests and clients.
From the designers’ statement
“Ashan Headquarters is designed for Ashan executives to work with pleasure and host the guests in a sincere atmosphere. The entrance is located in a core that has a poor natural light source. Therefore, the plan organization evaluated the use of angles to receive sunlight on entry. The brass linear details on the floor and the magnetic lighting system following it on the ceiling allows visitors to circulate in the right direction. The office rooms are separated from corridors with glazed walls to get sunlight efficiently to the inner areas. In the entry, some dark and neutral tones are used with glazing materials and lighting details to evoke corporate identity and luxury. Working areas are designed with warmer tones and comfortable furniture to inspirit employees. The one-storied management office with rectangular planning in Istanbul Maslak was designed to be used as the company headquarters. The management of the company, who wanted to move their offices to a more centralised location in Istanbul, aimed to work in an office that will make business life more enjoyable and productive with their colleagues. Comfort and maximum use of daylight were the design process’ s crucial criteria in the Office Project including VIP zones where the company owners can host their special guests. The reception area in the foyer is at an angle in the planning, and it is aimed to reach the maximum level of daylight in the circulation areas and the working areas in the middle of the office. The VIP zone and work areas are separated from each other by a transparent glass separator design with wooden poles. This bar area, which was designed as a resting and freelance working zone for the staff also transparently separated the two spaces. The dark natural stone with a matt surface used on the floor in the Project was combined with laminated wooden parquet and also it combined with dark-polished wooden coating and wallpapers with a special texture on the walls. While the special lighting used on the floor and the wall emphasises the effect of the dark colour, a calm and harmonious work environment was provided with the use of lighted and special veined light coloured natural stone materials. All mechanical installations were planned in the circulation areas to use the height that makes the working environment spacious. The wooden ceiling design in the executive rooms was combined with the wall coverings, thereby creating a wider area for mechanical installations”.
