A bold project for the refurbishment and renovation of the exteriors at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Bahrain, designed by the architects’ studio MASMARDI.
The aim of the refurbishment was to extend the food & beverage area with an ensuing greater recreational offering for guests in the outdoor area, spanning 9,000 sqm. To achieve the objective set by the customer, MasMardi architects worked on the connection between the central part of the hotel and the beach, removing all physical obstacles and using architectural elements whose finishes were able to enhance the value of the atmosphere and the soft and relaxing colours of the new landscape.
The natural stone of Lithos Design proved to be the ideal material to emphasise spaces and architectural structures by means of feature walls that blend in with the natural setting, making the ambiance especially welcoming and harmonious.
The “onda” model from the “Muri di Pietra” collection was selected to create an architectural element that acts as a partition: a free-standing wall of the utmost charm, especially when lit, that delimits the open-air restaurant and bar with extraordinary lightness, creating a partially see-through effect.
The use of the Virgola model from the “Le Pietre Incise” collection is also interesting. “Virgola” was used for an external cladding combined with vertical green: thanks to nature, expressed here with plants and marble, the resulting feature wall creates an overall effect of harmony and well-being, which is vital for the resort’s atmosphere.
