MARMO_2.0 Digital design evolution
Five very high-level experiments made of marble, designed with parametric software and realized using CNC machinery only, aimed to state that stone can stir as much emotions now as it used to do in the past with no manual labour, expressing itself through works of unimaginable tech level and poetic charm.
The audience will stare in wonder at these highly precise and virtuous 3D works, which are also designed to allow the maximum recovery and reduction of waste material, one of the main aims of the project. The most cutting-edge technology is used here to serve as a sort of digital chisel, opening up new and unexplored possible scenarios for the thousands-year old tradition of marble processing, marking a turning point in its history. An exhibition meant for industry pros and laymen alike, where all will be able to appreciate and understand the revolutionary, experimental content of every design through captivating videos of the production processes and extremely intuitive infographics.
The marble objects will be made by some top Italian companies: Citco, Helios Automazioni, Intermac, Marmi Strada and, of course, Lithos Design, who will propose the work named „Lisca“, first presented at the last edition of Marmomacc fair in Verona. The unrelenting innovative research conducted in the stone industry field by designer Raffaello Galiotto, also in association with the fair itself, has led to several exhibitions on the same topic and has recently been selected by the ADI Index for the „Compasso d’Oro“ award in the “ricerca per l’impresa” (research for business) category.
