Allegro marble design revisits terrazzo
With the comeback of the traditional terrazzo, shown as one of the most important trends in the last few years, our allegro marble design traces a strong and decorative connection between tradition and innovation, merging the craftsmanship of terrazzo with the preciousness of inlay design.
Welcomed as a pleasing comeback, terrazzo has become one of the main trends of this year, bringing back to the top that nostalgic vibe already introduced by retro style.
Indeed, following this widespread trend, terrazzo seems to have even more satisfied the need to live and (re)discover the past, starting from the decors that characterized the last decades.
Dated back 8,000 years, to Venetians, terrazzo was born as a cutting-cost measure for floors entirely made of pricey marble; then, after a short revival in the USA, during the ’70s, terrazzo has hit its peak in the last year thanks to its extreme versatility that made it a decorative solution for both designers who love minimal lines and soft nuances and also for those who prefer bolder chromatic choices.
May we call it a “terrazzo mania”?

When we came out with our “allegro“ marble design, we introduced a feature wall and floor design that would represent a connection between tradition and innovation; through cutting-edge technology, we designed a wall and floor texture that applies the industrial stone design to the ancient art of inlay work, showing at the same time a pattern strongly evoking the traditional terrazzo.
With brightly coloured triangles of refined marbles embedded in a carrara ghiaccio surface, our “allegro” marble design shows a charming version of terrazzo made with precious and exotic materials. Geometric chips of rosa agata, verde giada, macaubas, bardiglio nuvolato and nero marquinia marbles tailor a joyful patchwork of colours and materials scattering bold and brilliant touches across spaces.

In this way, we have the possibility to see how an always more innovative technology may help redesign what characterized the past: the traditional craftsmanship of terrazzo is turned into an elegant and luxurious version of the original one. If the design of the past keeps attracting professionals, there’s always the desire to give it a contemporary twist.

Indeed, our allegro marble model is a melting pot of tradition, innovation, preciousness, colours and materials that takes inspiration from the past, both for the ancient art of the inlay design and for the pattern evoking terrazzo, but re-designing it with the lines and the shapes of the present. The result is a feature wall and floor design able to be in tune with many spaces and decorative styles, letting space play the music of the past but with a faster “tempo”, the same one of “allegro”!
